The story

Tania & Abraham

Two Cuban violinists, a classical education, and a sound they decided to give a name.

I

The school

Tania Gómez and Abraham Rivero learned the violin the way it is learned in Cuba: with classical discipline.

They have spent more than three decades on stage. Today they live and work in Miami, where they perform together as Tania y Abraham Violins: a duo where musical mastery meets spiritual devotion.

They met in Cuba, but it was in Mexico that they found each other again and married.

II

The roots

Beside the violin stand the batá drum, Afro-Cuban percussion and chants of Yoruba origin.

Their music pays tribute to the orishas of the Yoruba tradition, and to all the egguns:

III

A name of its own

What they made did not fit any genre. So they gave it a name: Afro-Cuban Symphony™.

Classical violin, voices, percussion, batá drums and orchestral arrangements, with contemporary sounds. A symphony that comes from the conservatory and from the river at the same time.

IV

An unexpected meeting

Desiree Perez, CEO of Roc Nation, discovered them at a funeral.

The duo signed with Roc Nation Distribution, and their first single, “Oshun Yesá”, came out on September 8, 2025: the feast day of Oshún in Cuba.

Healing Frequencies

On August 28, 2026 their first album came out, and that same night they went back to Desafinados to premiere it.

“Afro Resonance — Ìró Àṣẹ”: violins, voices, percussion and batá drums. Weeks later, two tracks from the album played in a Peloton yoga class.
